Youth Employment in Australia

The first country which comes to our mind when we think of migrating to other country is definitely none other than Australia. Although Australia is a very strong economy and supports a large mass of population when we look at the facts and figures about “Youth Employment in Australia” the reality is almost very shocking. Nobody can deny the fact that youth form a very important part of the economy of a country and the youth of today decide what will be the fate of a nation tomorrow. Thinking logically we should not be alarmed on seeing low youth employment rates in Australia. Youth, although an important aspect of our economy are new to the world of economy and quite inexperienced to straight away start doing some jobs. Youth are devoid of any skills which puts them in a lot of risk of not being employed. After all the companies need profits and by hiring people with adequate experience they are to save a considerable amount of their resources by not having to impart them any kind of training. In the following lines I will discuss about the findings of a report with respect to youth employment in Australia- According to a recent report the youth from the age from 15-24 were at the highest risk of not being given employment in Australia. In the year 2004 about 20 percent of the youth from the age group of 15-19 years were not employed and about 23 percent of the youth between the age group were not having any kind of employment. The findings of the report do not end here itself; they go on and further declare that 45 percent of the total youth in the age group of 19-24 were not having full time employment. The reasons for this existing scenario were well investigated and found out. It was found that the most of the youth who were not employed were from low socio-economic backgrounds or were from some rural areas so they have not much resources with themselves to support themselves in urban areas due to high cost of living and hence end up being unemployed. One other major reason which was found out for low youth employment was early school dropouts. The youth tend leave learning institutions early on and hence end up being devoid of any knowledge and skills. Low employment rates may result in underemployment and unemployment in future. The government has brought many policies to improve the situation such as direct job creation and employer subsidy are some of the programs which have been successful in the endeavor of creating employment in Australia. Government has shown great concern over helping the youth becoming employed. Stress is being laid upon providing adequate education and training to the youth so that they are adequately skilled before stepping into a job. Several support services are also set up which will assist and guide the youth and hence help promote their well being.

Various Kinds Of Employment In Australia

Employment means someone being employed. It is the act of two persons in which one is employer and other is employee. Employer means who hires the people and employee means we the people who work for them or for their organization. As you know, to survive in this world you all need money and this will only happen when you have a job in your hand. To be employed is very necessary to fill the stomach of your family. To get good  employment one needs to be successfully done with the skill training .There are many qualities needed to be employed like performance, acts which are related to the job description. After a person is placed in an organization, he/she have to do the work according to their organization. There is an agreement too in between the employer and employee.

There are two types of employment – part time employment and full-time employment.

In part time employment, an employee works for few hours than an employee of full time and there is no proper time limit for part time workers as comparative to full time workers. They (full time workers) have to work for 9 hours a day. But employer has to treat them (part-time workers) fairly as comparative to full time. Part time employment is chosen by the person who wants to be study as well as to live their life in an independent way. The main difference is in their wages. The difference of wages is almost twice. The full time workers enjoys all the benefits which are given by the company as vacation leaves, sick leaves etc. as comparison to part time workers.

There are many opportunity of part time employment in Canada, America, England, United States and U.K like countries. But these days some developing nations are also following this trends..

Australia is one of the leading countries which provide the good  part time jobs.Since due to less human resource there they provide good wages to the part timers also/

There are three approaches of employment:

   1. Expand existing activities
   2. Borrow from other countries
   3. Promote culturally compatible activities.

In first approach you explore yourself from Nursery schools to tutorial institutes to English teaching. In second approach-credit rating, collection agencies, trade shows, network marketing and health clinics are there. And in the last- chit funds, marriage halls, mini-power plants, rural information centres, contract farming agencies.

In some organization, Employment is maintained by employment development department. It is the part of labor and workforce development agency of the executive branch of the state of California. It is under the job service. Employment records are maintained by California workers is more than 17 million. They provide many services, including: Assisting California employers in meeting their labor needs, Helping California job seekers obtain employment etc.

Labour Jobs With High Wages

Every organization, no matter how big it is requires large amount of labours or unskilled workers. Therefore today many developed nations are facing the problem of huge vacancies in labour jobs. Since the standard of living of the people there is high and most of them are skilled, the human resource for labour jobs is lacking. One of such country is Australia.
The population of Australia is  2,26,44,057 (Source: World Bank, World Development Indicators) which is around 1/60th time of India. With such a small population and being a developed nation, Australia greatly faces the problem of Vacancies in labour jobs.
If we see this scenario from the point of economics i.e. when the demand is very high than the supply, the price of the commodity automatically increases. Same is the case here; the labours in Australia are highly paid due to lack of human resource available for labour jobs. Moreover, the working time for the labours is also more sophisticated as compared to the labour jobs in developing nations. Since the labour jobs in developed nation also require some basic skills, the organization provides this to the labour. When you leave your job there, you are actually semiskilled.
Various labour jobs are available in Australia which includes: mining, construction, farming, metal worker, driver, carpenter, etc.
Every job has huge vacancies and good salaries. Being a labour in a developed nation is very much valuable than being a labour in a developing nation.
Three benefits that you get while working in Australia as a labour:

   1. Good wage: As mentioned earlier, due to lack of labour the wages are high. You get to have a good living.
   2. Experience: Labours here are provided with some skills, so when you leave the job, you are semi skilled.
   3. Motivation: The labours here are properly treated and motivated to do better. Organization takes strict care of good behavior with the labours.

.

Whereas you work in any another developing nation such benefits are not given. Take for example the labour condition in China are not good. The country is the most populated in the world and one of the very fast developing nations, but none of the three benefits are provided.

Being an unskilled worker, getting a job in Australia is easy. You just need to get a passport,   visa and you have to clear certain tests and verification. Not to worry, there are a lot of agents and institutes that can help you to do such formalities very easily.

So, what are you waiting for?? Put your efforts and labour in a better place and have a good life with a higher wages and a better standard of living.

Tips For Choosing a Career

To choose the right career, it is necessary to know your idea of achievement for your future. The initial years of your job are considered to be the most crucial to your choice of a career, as they help you to understand whether you will be able to succeed in your chosen field of work.  Most of us find our eight-to-ten-hour jobs very monotonous and tiring. We tend to simply complete our work like machines. The chances of making mistakes and experiencing a decline in performance also increase.
Make a list of skills: Make a list of all the skills required in a particular field of work and those you possess. Then match them and check if you qualify for the job. The skills required for a particular job forms an essential part of your potential of succeeding in any particular field. Skills required may include educational qualifications, knowledge of operating different machines and software, certifications, diplomas or knowledge of a foreign language.
Take some time to discover or re-discover who you are - So many of us don't know our own selves on a deeper level. Find out what makes you tick. What fascinates you, grabs your attention, what you like and dislike, what your strengths and weaknesses are, what are your preferences? Honor that voice inside and see where it leads you, don't shoot it down, it may hold the key to your answers. Explore with an open mind. Express the truth of who you are -This is the time to be as real, genuine and authentic as you can be. Remember, as long as you worry about others and base decisions on what they will want and think alone versus what you will, you won't be true to yourself.
Take a stand, take responsibility for your beliefs and actions, and be proactive - Don't be afraid speak and stand by what you believe in. Work on building self-confidence and self-esteem if you find yourself shaky. Take the time to discover your Purpose and Passion.
